This is your moment. You're meant to be here. — Herb Brooks
Have you ever caught yourself mindlessly, repeatedly checking out your phone while having a conversation, while working, while spending time with your family, while eating lunch or walking in nature? (I sure have, more times than I’d be willing to admit.)
What if, instead, you tried to be present? What if you focus on the moment, take it all in, enjoy it to the fullest?
Would you miss the time otherwise spent looking at your screen? If the answer is no, try putting your phone away (keep it in your pocket on silent, or better yet, leave it at home or in another room).
Obviously, this is just a small, silly example of how distracted we are and how easy it might be to improve our presence in this very moment. But that’s just it. Small things like this can make a huge difference in improving the quality of our lives.
The Amazing Power of Being Present
How can you bring calm and peace to the middle of a stressful, chaotic day? The answer is simple, though not always so easy to put into practice: learn to be present.
Until Next Week
Be here, in this very moment, right now. It’ll make a world of difference to you and the people around you.
