The Tail End
Instead of measuring your life in units of time, measure it in activities or events. — Tim Urban
If we lay out the days we have left in our lifetime, like Tim Urban did, it becomes painstakingly clear that we have only a finite amount of days left to do the things that matter, to spend time with the people we love.
I’ve been thinking about this for quite a while now, and I’ve come to realize that a lot of things are not nearly as important as they seem on a day-to-day basis, and some things matter a great deal more when you look at them on a lifespan basis.
I have many interests and many wonderful people in my life, but not all are equally important. That’s why I’ve made a conscious decision to spend more of my time doing the things that matter the most.
Writing, and consequently creating this very newsletter, is one of those things. I’m immensely happy and proud to have wonderful people like you reading it. So I’ll keep at it.
Like now, I might miss a couple of weeks or months here or there due to personal or impersonal reasons, but I still have a feeling that Inspiration Bits newsletter is nowhere near the tail end.
The Tail End
Tim Urban on how can measuring your life in activities or events, instead of in time, put a new perspective on your goals, relationships, hopes, and wishes.
Until Next Week
Make time for the things that matter. You only have a finite number of days left in your life, and you might already be in the last few percent of the time with some people and things you love; cherish each moment and every minute.
